Have you realized that it is finally time to get your garage in order? Perhaps the garage has become a catch-all for things like kid's toys, holiday decorations and other items that might be stored in a different place. From making a family plan to actually repairing the garage door, or buying a brand new one, here are some ideas that might help you as you organize your garage.
Have A Plan - Do you want to work by yourself? Working solo might have some great benefits. For example, you can get rid of broken or used toys without facing the drama with a child. On the other hand, involving your family members in the organization of your garage might have some real appeal. After all, they contributed to the mess, so shouldn't they each have a hand in making the garage look nice?
Whether you work by yourself or whether you work with your spouse and your kids, consider having a plan. Sit down with the entire family and together find a day that can be devoted to the organization of your garage. Consider writing down all the things that need to be accomplished and write names by that task, or ask family members to choose the task themselves. That way you're sure to have everything covered that needs to be done.
Work Day - On the actual day that you will be organizing your garage, think of starting early so that you can finish in time to have a bit of a celebration for completing your tasks. Ahead of time, buy things like shelving, storage bins, and cork board for organizing the items that will remain in the garage area. Have you been having trouble with your garage door?
